*All prices are approximate. Final cost will vary depending on the layout of your space, room prep time, and obstacles in the room. Here are things you can do to prep a room for painting that will save your painter time and ultimately save you money: remove outlet covers and ceiling light covers (if ceiling is being painted), remove all furniture and decor from room or if not able to completely remove, assure things are covered with plastic, gently wipe down any dust/dirt/cobwebs from area to be painted, (such as baseboards or corners of room), keep children and pets away from work area during job completion, assure that the room is properly ventilated such as the use of fans or the ability to open a window, keep the temperature of your home between 65-68 degrees.

Things to Consider:

Furniture in the room: If large pieces need to be moved or worked around, it adds time for setup and careful maneuvering.
Wall damage: Cracks, holes, or uneven surfaces may require patching, sanding, and priming before painting. This is not within my scope of work and would need to be completed ahead of time.
Multiple windows or doors: Extra trim and detail work around windows, doors, or built-ins increases the painting time.
Textured walls: Painting textured surfaces often takes longer because they require more precision and additional paint.
Difficult-to-reach areas: High ceilings, tight corners, or awkward spaces may need special ladders or tools.
Multiple colors: Switching between colors, especially if sharp lines are needed, takes extra time for prep and cleanup.
Detailed trim work: Crown molding, baseboards, and other decorative trim require careful attention.
Heavy stains or odors: Stained walls may need priming, and odor-blocking treatments add steps to the process.
Cluttered spaces: A room filled with belongings can slow down setup and make navigating the space trickier.
